Guide Review - Emerilware Fryer by T-fal®
The first thing item I wanted to cook in the fryer was doughnuts. Unfortunately, my husband had other ideas. He said as soon as he saw the fryer all he could think of was fried shrimp. We already had breaded shrimp and French fries in our deep freezer. Luckily, I was at least allowed to make some homemade hushpuppies. Everything came out to perfection.I will admit that I've never enjoyed using a deep fryer in my home. I didn't care for the smell or the mess. With the Emerilware Fryer, there was very little grease around the fryer after cooking. The smell wasn't as bad as other home fryers either. After we were finished cooking, according to directions, we turned-off the fryer and didn't touch it again until the next day. After the oil is cooled down, it will automatically drain through two filters before it's stored in the base of the machine. Since the fryer will be used for more than seafood, we poured the grease back into its original bottle. The grease was so clean that it was only a little darker than we started and it was totally free of debris.
For many years, my husband was a full-time chef and so he is used to cooking with professional kitchen fryers. He fell in love with this fryer. He just couldn't believe how clean the grease came out. He thought the lid you place on the fryer while cooking was perfect for frying frozen items. He was blown-away by how clean the grease was after cooking and how simple it was to get it out of the storage pan.
Hint: I eliminated any leftover fried oil smells in my kitchen by leaving a small bowl of vinegar near the fryer overnight. I do this anytime we have an overly-fragrant (and, of course, flavorful) meal.
